Cecil Square before the TDC offices were built.

Nostalgia for some, this is Cecil Square early seventies. The Hippodrome has gone, the Centre is under construction  and the foundation work for the Courthouse and TDC offices begin.

I remember the Hippodrome as an excellent theatre.

The TDC offices and court building are ugly in comparison.

I too remember the Hippodrome, firstly as a bomb site, and then after it was returned to use as I believe, a cinema.

I cannot be sure but I seem to recall seeing a pantomime at the Hippodrome in the 70s.

I saw the film Albert RN at the Hippodrome, must have been early 1950s.

Alnert RN is an excellent film. Does it really date back to the 50s - where the hell does all that time go.
