A great day out at the seaside wood galore

As predicted the wood has arrived two days ahead of schedule thanks to the overnight South Westerly winds. Ramsgate beach does appear to have "this ring of steel guarding the wood" this morning. Considering that the flow of wood is moving Northwards it is easier to access is further along the coast past Broadstiars at the most Northerely tip of the flow as demonstrated from the picture above. Some wood is still in bales , there does appear to be at lot of six metre lengths and the condition is excellent , most of the dimension is 25mm by 100m. There are larger sizes and it is all planking. People are starting to take it but only one or two pieces probably for souvenirs and that tends to be the broken pieces as the wood is heavy and water logged. From where I was nobody was taking anything in large quantities probably because of the Coastguard plane flying above as pictured, mind you once darkness falls I expect they will all be out there.
It now appears the Police are letting people onto the beaches and people are now removing the wood. Meridian news 18:00hrs.

They were loading cars and vans at Dumpton Gap just 15 mintes ago. Police weren't worried, just there to advise that beach was technically closed and potentially dangerous.

Thank you for that info anon, Amazing when you consider that this morning people were told that removing the wood was theft and people were told to leave Ramsgate beach.

Annon 18:02, you can say what you like. But the people I saw removing wood had a use for it this afternoon couldn't give a moonkees what people think.
By the way annon I haven't taken any as I haven't got a use for it. If I did have a use I would probably taken some for the job. But at the end of the day its only use is for rough outdoor jobs.

Tony, this is theft, are you supporting that?

Low life Thanet. that sums up the people who have no regard for others property

Most of the idiots who thought they had a god given right to remove wood from beaches not only put themselves in danger but also members of the public who just turned up to view the site, I find it very sad that the people of thanet find looking at wood on any beach interesrting, you must all lead very boring lives. As for all the thieves that took wood its no wonder nobody wants to come to Thanet anymore they rightly dont want to mix with lowlifes who just seem to do what they want shame on you, I hope whatever you build goes rotten very quickly.
