This little gem is a piece of Margate Jetty and lives in the Maritime room in the Margate Museum. When I look at it I often think how many pieces of the jetty both large and small were salvaged thirty years ago when the jetty went down. My claim to fame is a piece of salvaged yarrow decking in my loft. I suspect there are many pieces of Jetty tucked away in the most unlikeliest places inThanet. Perhaps one day it may be possible to form a picture archive of salvaged pieces of jetty of where they are now and what they become. If you got a piece let me know.
