1940's tea party

When Simon Moores Thanetlife was in full throttle I would often send in pictures from the Margate Museum sunbeam collection.

One of my favourites is this veiw taken from the roof of the Westbrook Bathing Pavillion which was built in 1914. This veiw captures the tranquility of the 1948 seaside perfectly with afternoon tea. The lady in 1940's fashion makes this picture a real treat and the hair style is realy something. The Sunbeam collection belongs to Thanet District Council and is kept in the Margate Museum for all to see.

And everyone is so smartly dressed. I bet the chap in the foreground upset a few people, drinking his tea without a shirt on
